NNR shares information with members of the public and parliamentarians during the 2019 Parliamentary Budget Vote

The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy Honourable Gwede Mantashe presented the department of Mineral Resources and Energy’s 2019 Budget Vote Speech to parliament on 10 -11 July 2019. Both the Mineral Resources and Energy budgets outlined the key focus areas for the Department and the respective sectors for the short to medium term. In his speech, the Minister emphasised the importance of the contribution of mining and energy security for achieving Governments goals for transformation and socio economic development.


Public entities were invited to exhibit and share information with public and parliamentarians on their roles and respective mandates. The NNR team led by the CEO, Dr Tyobeka shared information with the public and members of parliament on the role, functions and mandate of the NNR.

Minister Mantashe held a stakeholder engagement session with investors, heads of state owned entities, and key stakeholders at the Cape Town International Convention Centre where the NNR also held an information sharing exhibition.
