The main purpose of the Public Safety and Information Forums is to provide information to the persons residing in the relevant municipal areas, in respect of which an emergency plan has been established in terms of Section 38 (1) of the Nuclear Safety Act, as well as in terms of radiation safety matters related to the relevant nuclear installation. In addition, the holder of a nuclear installation licence must provide information to the forums on nuclear and radiation safety matters, including, but not limited to nuclear incidents or accidents.
